Rumor has it, if you send in the gamertag of the modder to bungie, they will be banned quicker. I've seen it happen, it happened to a friend of mine who got his name sent in by another friend of mine (now neither are my friends) but, I've decided to make a list. Here's how this'll work. If you get modded, put down the gamertags and the link to the game of how they modded you. Copy the list of the commenter above you and then just add your own with links and all that jazz. This way, bungie will pay more attention.

Please do this, it can help stop at least a few of the modders.

i played a team training with some modders the other day, at first you know it was cool they were just jumping and not really using it to their advantage, then when we scored twice on them, they decided to end it real fast with 3 scores

regardless, i would've reported them anyway because that shit is stupid, i don't see why you kids can't just play the game and have fun, and not have fun at other people (me and my friend's) expense.

believe me i will add all modders, cheaters or not, if they are modding they are cheating. to this list.

Modding is not equivalent to cheating. There's a lot one can do with a modded XBox -- for example, one can add user-created patches to the Morrowind client to add new features, or one could play around with map creation, and so on.

Ban -cheaters-. Don't allow Microsoft's flawed logic that modding is wrong influence you.

yeah cheating is dumb, I plain suck at halo 2 and that's fine by me. I'd rather suck badly with my own skill than win easily by cheating

Fine Cheating, modders are ok, I mean the ones that play with manipulated maps in matchmaking.

People who mod and then play on xbox live are as bad as those fuckers who use 'bomb' and 'nuclear strike' when you're playing paper scissors rock. The rules are there for a reason. If you change the rules, you're just gaying it up for everyone else. People who mod to change a gameplay experience online for other people, deserve to be banned.

Hahah. That's an interesting comparison to say the least.

It's all about the pen missle!

yes, ban all the modders...
if i had a modded xbox, i wudnt have to go buy a new copy of halo 2. rather, my current one wud be working. but does that make a difference? i dont think microsoft cares about making an extra $50 which is a lot of money to me to buy another copy of the game. meanwhile, if my system were modded, i cud have recorded the game to my hard disk or made a backup before it broke. honestly, you guys need to understand, you are believing the criminals and fighting the individuals. get a life and stop reporting kind, everyday people to those who are an actual menace to society.

I'm talking about people who mod the code to the game. If you have a modded XBox, and a copy of halo 2, which isn't edited in any way, then good for you. If you're not ruining other peoples online experience, I see no reason why you should get banned (though last I heard it was difficult to dodge Live detecting your hardware mods when you sign in). Its once people start jumping five times higher than usual, teleporting on command with the flag or bomb, killing people the moment they spawn, firing whole warthogs out of their plasma pistols, that I get a bit irate. When I'm talking about modders I'm talking about people who mod game code to change the game to something other than what it was originally, to get an edge over others.

Not all modders are cheaters, I will give you that. But all modders instantly have that avenue open to them if they so desire. And I'm not sure thats a good thing.
